Bill Austin Famous Quotes
Many years ago (before 1993) Bill Austin got electronic mail and started exploring what has now become the Internet.
When Lynx, and Mosaic, and hypertext came along, Bill was right there putting up web sites for Motorola and for hundreds of non-profit organizations and churches.
He likes to say “I was there on that beach in Florida. There were ten of us, and Al Gore was not there.”
From the very beginning of having an e-mail account, people would write to Bill and ask whether he was Bill Austin the weatherman or the Bill Austin of “Bill Austin’s BBQ.”
Later they asked if he was Bill Austin of “Beth and Bill in the Morning” on the radio or Cooking with Beth and Bill on TV.
From the beginning he always gave the same answer …
“No, I am the Famous Bill Austin!”

And here is a story by his mother-in-law (The Story Lady in Cardiff by the Sea) about her funny chance encounter with a different Bill Austin entitled “Who the Heck is Bill Austin?”
She ends it with this postscript:
Postscript: My daughter’s Bill Austin recently attended an INCOSE (International Conference on Systems Engineering) conference in Phoenix, AZ and as he was boarding the elevator he turned around to face the very same other Bill Austin!
As an additional follow-up, the INCOSE Conference was in Mesa, Arizona that year and as they got onto the elevator, Bill Austin (who had not yet read the above story) said to this other Bill Austin “Hey, nice name.” and the Bill Austin from Indiana (Bill Austin & Associates, Inc.) leaned closer and said conspiratorially,
“You know, there is a Bill Austin here in Phoenix who thinks he’s famous.”
