Sarah Marshall Quotes

Sarah Marshall Quotes

Some funny quotes from Sarah Marshall ( Sally Marshall ) in the Chicago Tribune.

Maybe I should start a support group. After all, the Sarah Marshalls of the world have rights too. Not all of us suck.
– Sarah Marshall

And someone should have considered the feelings of those Sarah Marshalls who really do look fat in their jeans
– Sarah Marshall

I’ve always wanted my name in lights—even if it’s the name I’m only called by credit card customer-service reps.
– Sarah Marshall

… the thrill of seeing my name in lights is gone. Now, everywhere I go, I see signs that say things like “You suck Sarah Marshall,” “I’m so over you Sarah Marshall,” “You do look fat in those jeans Sarah Marshall” and

“My mom always hated you Sarah Marshall.”

The Man Who Sold Hot Dogs

The Man Who Sold Hot Dogs

There was a man who lived by the side of the road and sold hot dogs.

He was hard of hearing so he had no radio.

He had trouble with his eyes so he read no newspapers.

But he sold good hot dogs.

He put up signs on the highway telling how good they were.

He stood on the side of the road and cried; “buy a hot dog, mister?

And people bought.

He increased his meat and bun orders.

He bought a bigger stove to take care of his trade.

He finally got his son home from college to help him out.

But then something happened.

His son said, “Father, haven’t you been listening to the radio?

Haven’t you been reading the newspapers?

There’s a big depression.

The European situation is terrible.

The domestic situation is worse.”

Where upon the father thought, “well, my son’s been to college, he reads the papers and he listens to the radio, and he ought to know.”

So the father cut down on his meat and bun orders, took down his advertising signs, and no longer bothered to stand out on the highway to sell his hot dogs.

And his hot dog sales fell almost overnight.

“You’re right, son” the father said to the boy.

“We certainly are in the middle of a great depression.”

“Here is the secret that no other viral marketers seem to understand… getting 10,000 visitors of which 20% are targeted is BETTER than getting 100 visitors where 100% are targeted.”

- Dean Hunt in answer to the question

But Dean, what advantage can an off-topic quiz have for a marketing blog?

Dean Hunt wrote recently about an experiment he conducted with a stupid quiz and how social media helped him move that quiz to the top of the Stumbleupon rankings for the marketing category.

If you do visit Deans site, be sure to watch out for killer bunnies.
